How We Verify Builders

Every Listing Comes With Proof

We built PoleBarnScout on one rule: no builder appears here until we find proof, on their own website, that they actually build pole barns.

That proof stays on the listing. Every builder card on this site shows a direct quote from the builder’s own website, along with where we found it and when we checked. You never have to take our word for it. You can see theirs.

What Verified Means

Before a builder appears here, we check their own website for proof that they build post-frame structures. They have to show it plainly: pole barn construction listed as a service, a portfolio of buildings they raised, or a clear statement of what they build.

If we cannot find that proof, in their own words, they do not get listed. No exceptions, and no way to talk their way in.

That is why every listing shows an exact quote from the builder’s website, with the source and the date we checked. The proof is right on the card.

What Gets Rejected

Plenty of companies show up in a search for pole barn builders that do not actually build them. We keep them out.

Kit and materials sellers that do not build. Shed and portable building retailers. Roofing and remodeling contractors who mention barns but do not construct them. Lead-generation sites with no local crew. If we cannot prove a company builds, they stay off the list. We would rather show you fewer builders than pad the count.

What Verified Does Not Mean

Honesty cuts both ways, so here is what our verification does not cover.

We verify what a builder does, not how well they do it. A Scout Verified badge means we confirmed the company builds post-frame structures. It is not a review, a rating, or an endorsement of their workmanship, pricing, or service.

We do not check licensing, insurance, or bonding. Requirements vary by state and county, and you should confirm them directly with any builder before signing anything.

And builders cannot buy verification. There is no fee to be listed and no fee to be verified. Paid placements on this site are always labeled, and payment never changes who qualifies.

Builders: Get Listed or Claim Your Listing

If you build post-frame structures and you are not listed, we want you here. If your website shows what you build, verification is straightforward. If you are already listed, you can claim your listing to add photos, service details, and your coverage area.

The Fine Print

Our data comes from public business listings and builders’ own websites. We re-check listings on a rolling basis, and every evidence quote shows the date we checked. Businesses change, so if you find a listing that is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
